Daykas first days in Germany

Hi all!

After a little nerve-tracking start for our relationship (Dayka whined all the way to Mannheim with all her energy), she develops fine.

I let her sleep in a fly box beside my bed where she felt fine from the beginning and did not whine at all.

First, she reacted a little agressive against our other dog (a gos d'atura) but after 24 hours they started playing like crazy. Outside Dayka continued to snap at other dogs which approached too fast. Gary suggested DAP. As consequence she whined less on our walks, but continued to be very affraid of other dogs. Yesterday we went to the puppy class the first time, and she behaved totally fine. She was very shy (that's ok for the first time), but did not whine or snap at all. The dog trainer assumed that she had importunate siblings and she told me that its nothing to be anxious about.

@Gary: We needed only the first vaccination to go to the puppy class.

Furthermore I did progressive "car training" with Dakya every day, since she continued whining in the car as loud as she could. Now, after 5 day she whines only the first 5 minutes, than she gets calm. I used also the fly box and a DAP spray. Here it worked fine - thanks Gary!

Our next "project" is to start leaving her alone. I think I'll start on monday, when she is one week with us. Now it would be too early, since she already starts whining when I go upstairs.

I hope that all Arwen kids feel fine with their new families - and that the new families are happy with their puppies. I am shure that Dayka will become a wonderfull dog.
